Guess what?

We are getting thealphasite.com domain name real soon!

Major site revamps are gonna take place real soon! Some of you might already have noticed a few of them. There is a floating login toolbar on the home page, and there is a different toolbar on all other pages. That is really gonna make the site navigation a whole lot easier! Also, the Member's Page has been changed. I have done away with the boring, old style to make stuff stylish around here! Please leave comments with suggestions and feedback about the changes! Tell us what new things you would like to see!

Only 300 more hits to hit 2000 visitors!

You might have noticed the new FAQ page in the nav-bar. I added the new Frequently Asked Questions so that its easy for the users to get any answers related to the website! I have tried to add as many relevant questions as possible. If you have any questions that need to be answered, send emails to sanchit.agrawal@yahoo.com or use the Contact Page. Hope the FAQ is useful for both new and old users!

I added a Who's Among Us widget in the scrolling bar! Its the little red box with the number in the right side of the page. Just have a look at it to know how many people are currently online, including you! Click on it to see specific details like the country they are from!

Here is a simple tutorial about adding videos on The Alpha Site:

1. Login using your account or register for a new one.

2. Go to the Videos page.

3. Click on the Add Video button.

4. Choose an existing video channel or create a new one under the option "Where do you

    want to put your video?"

5. There are 5 options under the "Add a Video" button:

     i) URL

     ii) Embed Code

     iii) Search Youtube

     iv) Upload

     v) My Videos

6. Under the URL option, you simply have to put the videos URL in the Video URL box. Give

     it a title and an appropriate description. Click on submit. You are done! (Note: You can

     only use a Youtube, Google Video, Metacafe or Revver URL)

7. If you want to upload a video using the Embed Code option, you need to copy and paste

     the embed code of the video in the Embed Code box. The embed code of the video can 

     be found  next to the video in most of the popular video websites (eg. Youtube). Put the

     URL of the image that will represent the video under the Thumbnail URL option. Give an

     appropriate title and description to the video. Click on submit.

8. Using the Search Youtube option, you can search for videos on Youtube. Just click on the

     desired video and it will be added to The Alpha Site.

9. If you already have the video saved in your computer, you can use the Upload option. Click

    on "Choose File" option. Once you choose the video, click on the Upload button. Wait for

    the upload to complete, and give the video a title and description. Click on Submit.

    (Note: The maximum length of an uploaded video is limited to 10 minutes).

I organised the navigation- bar in the form of sub-pages. Some pages have been grouped together under a single page for easier navigation. Try it out! Bring your cursor over the "Community" page or the "Contact Us" in the navigation bar towards the left. A popup menu with the sub pages should be displayed. The "Members" and the "Facebook Connect" page have been grouped under the "Community" page. The "Contact Page", the "Feedback" page, the "Guestbook" page and the "About Me" page have been grouped under the "Contact Us" page. I hope you like the change. Leave your comments here.
